Dr. Radak, Academic Program Coordinator and Core Faculty for the PhD Public Health Program in the College of Public Health and Public Policy was recently interviewed by Dr. Sharon Horesh Bergquist, Emory University professor of medicine and board-certified internal medicine doctor, Medical Director of Emory’s Executive Health Center and founder and director of Emory Lifestyle Medicine & Wellness. Dr Radak, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and nutrition research expert discussed the complexity in navigating the food, nutrition and food industry and provided a historical of the original (and flawed)
research suggesting benefit from seafood from long chain omega 3 fatty acids. This led to explosion of fish oil supplements for cardiovascular disease risk reduction which recent research suggests are largely exaggerated.
